Bacon Dumplings
Serves 4
Meat:
80 g bacon cut into fine cubes
Vegetables:
½ onion (40 g)
Other ingredients:
150 g firm white bread or ready prepared dumpling bread
20 g butter (1 tbsp)
40 g flour (2 tbsp)approx. 100 ml milk or water2 eggs
Seasoning:
1 tbsp parsley or chives, finely chopped
Salt
- Cut the bread into small cubes
- Sauté the finely chopped onions in the butter, add to the bread and stir well
- Add the flour and bacon and mix
- Beat together the eggs, milk, parsley and salt, pour over the bread and stir well
- Leave the mixture to soak for around 15 minutes, then form into dumplings and simmer in a half-covered pan of salted water until cooked
